Today, the term CSR is used in many discussions, from the most committed to the most marketing-oriented, with the occasional dose of greenwashing that can go with it. But what exactly are we talking about, and how does Le Beau Jean position itself?
CSR is normalized
CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility - means that a company must have a positive impact on society at large, while remaining economically viable. This approach is governed by the ISO 26000 standard and is based on seven pillars :
- Corporate governance
- Respect for human rights
- The quality of working conditions
- Environmental protection
- Loyalty of practices
- All consumer-related issues
- Support for communities and local development
Concretely, on the ground, without going as far as certification, these good practices are being implemented in more and more companies, and that's a good thing. The acronym CSR took a while to stabilize: it was also used for "Corporate Social Responsibility." These last two terms are certainly more familiar to you, so we'll use them to present our actions.
Social and environmental actions at Le Beau Jean
At Le Beau Jean, we strive to be pragmatic and efficient by choosing materials, manufacturers, and processes that fit into this approach, by implementing a process that opens the door to the circular economy. For example, we work on recycling and upcycling our products . That's where we're talking environmental issues.
For the social aspect, we have a very simple approach that makes sense to us. At a time when we are facing significant growth, the question of outsourcing our logistics arose. We then had the choice between various high-performing service providers with proven systems, more or less close to us. But we also looked locally and discovered organizations that employ and train people in difficulty: the ESATs. It seemed obvious to us that this is the type of actor with whom we needed to work. After several consultations, we opted for the ESAT Marie Pire in Altkirch.
The ESAT of Altkirch, logistics partner of Le Beau Jean
For those who don't know, an ESAT (Établissement et Service d'Aide par le Travail) is a structure that welcomes and supports people with disabilities to enable them to work and live independently. It is therefore a company in its own right whose mission is to provide paid work to its employees while offering them a stimulating living environment.
The partnership with the ESAT d'Altkirch allows Le Beau Jean to guarantee exemplary service quality to its customers: the teams feel personally involved in what they do. Our accompanying notes are written manually by the staff in charge, and they feel all the more valued. The storage and shipping of our products are handled by a professional and committed team, who do everything possible to satisfy our customers' requests.
In addition, our geographical proximity (20 km and 20 minutes from our offices) allows us to easily assist teams with any questions and build a real connection with them. In short, the partnership with ESAT Marie Pire represents an important step in the development of our brand, and continues to align us with a responsible logistics approach.
Le Beau Jean is committed to a more ethical and united future
By choosing Le Beau Jean, customers are assured of supporting a forward-looking company with solid values. The brand continues to develop its activities in France while remaining committed to sustainability and social responsibility.
