Le Tablier Selvedge est de retour et ce n'est pas un hasard

The Selvedge Apron is back, and that's no accident

There are coincidences that feel like signs. Last week, the first swallows skimmed the roofs of our Alsatian workshop. Storks returned to nest on the chimneys of the Rhine plain. And a little earlier, at one of our partners', someone discovered an end-of-roll of selvedge denim: that rare fabric, woven the old-fashioned way on shuttle looms, which we thought was out of stock until next season.

We got the message.

A second chance, like spring

Selvedge is a fabric you don't just order off the shelf. You find it, you seize it, you cherish it. This end-of-roll, which had been sitting there since autumn, was exactly the quantity we needed to relaunch a small batch of the Selvedge Apron, our kitchen apron cut from this thick, structured denim, the kind that ages so well, takes on the colors of use, and tells stories of shared meals.

We hesitated for half a second. Then we remembered the messages you've been sending us for months. "Is it still available?", "When will you make more?", "I want to give it as a Father's Day gift!"

The answer is yes. For a limited time. The time it takes for an end-of-roll to run out, which means not long.

It's the season for fire and the outdoors

Alsatian spring has something special about it. It doesn't arrive gently: it settles in all at once, one May morning, with warmth in the air and an immediate desire to do everything outdoors. Terraces fill up, gardens get back to work, and your neighbor, inevitably, pulls the barbecue out of the back of the garage.

That's where the apron comes in.

Not just to look good. To protect your shirt, which you want to keep clean while flipping sausages. To have your hands free and your pockets full – and let me tell you, the Selvedge apron has two, large, sturdy, practical ones. So you don't have to choose between taking care of yourself and taking care of others.

A good apron is a bit like a good pair of jeans: you don't really know how much you needed it until you have it.

Made to last, designed for the moments that matter

At Le Beau Jean, we're Alsatians, and we believe in things well made. The selvedge we use is from the great houses: dense, tightly woven, with that clean edge that doesn't fray. The apron is cut generously, adjusted at the back with a knot, washable and indestructible.

It will be better after a hundred barbecues than on the first day. That's the promise of selvedge.

The storks have returned. The swallows are circling above the roofs. And we, we found this denim at the back of the workshop.

The Selvedge Apron is back in stock in very limited quantities.

Seize the opportunity before the roll runs out. And treat your friends.
