Uncle Francky's advice
Wear your jeans with or without a belt: Uncle Francky gives us his opinion!
Basically, the belt was purely functional and not at all designed for decoration: it was there to hold the pants in place on the hips, that's all. It could be made of string, woven strap, or leather (our friends atComme un camion tell you about it).
Remember the times when people lost their pants and showed us a beautiful mason's line! Glamorous, isn't it? This happened when the jeans were too big or simply ill-fitting to the wearer's figure (in the year 100 BC Le Beau Jean !). You may have experienced the gaping waist, the poorly filled space in the small of the back, or the belly that drops and presses on the belt buckle. The belt overcomes these disadvantages from a technical point of view, with varying degrees of success.

Today there are two schools of thought . You can find all types of jeans on the market, more or less well-fitted (when in doubt, choose a Le Beau Jean ! 😉). And wearing jeans with a belt is no longer absolutely necessary.
Look classy in jeans with a belt
If you're looking for a polished look , opt for a belt: it makes it look more "finished." If you wear your jeans with a shirt and suit jacket in business mode, please wear a belt, otherwise it's guaranteed to be a faux pas! If it's leather, try as much as possible to match it to your shoes (black or brown, etc.). Generally speaking, I recommend wearing a belt beyond its functional aspect, as a decorative accessory that will enhance your look.

How to make pants stay up without a belt
The only times you can allow yourself to wear your jeans without a belt: casual wear or on vacation . Indeed, if you wear your pants low on your hips and reveal your pretty boxers with the brand clearly visible on the elastic, the belt will be too much. Likewise, barefoot on vacation at the beach with a nice cuff, the belt will weigh down your look, but on condition that you have men's jeans without a belt that fits your waist well, a Le Beau Jean !

What if I wear nice jeans?
Generally speaking, the above advice applies to your Le Beau Jean pants. We can go a bit further by looking at the specificities of the silhouettes .
With a Classic , we are 100% in line with our message: wearing or not wearing a belt will be THE free choice par excellence , depending on the look you are looking for.
If you wear a Galbé , the fact of having a tighter waist and your well-packed butt means that your jeans will hold up naturally without falling . There will therefore be no obligation to wear a belt, it will just be an aesthetic choice on your part. What a change compared to before LBJ where it was imperative to tighten the belt because the waist was too wide when we managed to tuck in our thighs and buttocks!
If you have a Smart , I highly recommend the belt: the lack of relief in this area means that your jeans will tend to slip down surreptitiously as you move, at the risk of ending up with the famous stripe mentioned above. However, don't tighten the belt too much to keep comfort under your belly, and wear your jeans low on the hips. Trust its convex line. Don't worry about the rear view: everything is under control, you look great!
